Job Opportunity: Hospitality Manager

About the Role

Folk On The Rocks is hiring a dynamic and highly organized Hospitality Manager for the 45th Annual Folk On The Rocks Music Festival, taking place July 18–20, 2025. This key seasonal role ensures the smooth operation of the festival’s Hospitality Area, including managing volunteers, overseeing the Hospitality Bar, coordinating with caterers and the Artist Relations team, and liaising with the Liquor Licensing Board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a detailed hospitality work plan in alignment with the Artist Relations and Volunteer Management teams

  • Support catering operations in partnership with the Artist Relations team

  • Set up, decorate, and maintain the Hospitality Area

  • Manage and operate the Hospitality Bar in accordance with liquor regulations

  • Liaise with the Liquor Licensing Board to ensure compliance

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise Hospitality Area volunteers

  • Assist with liquor inventory management and ordering

  • Support post-event tear-down and clean-up

  • Welcome and host artists and VIP guests throughout the festival

  • Assist with planning and execution of the Performer/VIP BBQ

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality, event coordination, or festival management

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership abilities

  • Comfortable working independently in a high-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Knowledge of or experience with liquor licensing and compliance is an asset

About the Role

Folk On The Rocks is seeking a detail-oriented and personable Ticketing Manager to oversee all aspects of ticketing operations for the 45th Annual Folk On The Rocks Music Festival. This role is key to ensuring a smooth, efficient, and welcoming experience for festivalgoers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and operate the Folk On The Rocks Point of Sale (POS) and Eventbrite ticketing systems

  • Oversee guest lists, complimentary passes, and VIP  ticketing

  • Track and report on all ticket sales and trends over festival weekend

  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and Security Teams to implement an effective ID and security plan

  • Recruit, train, and manage the Ticketing Volunteer Team

  • Lead the onsite ticketing setup and daily operations

  • Maintain safety and security of the ticketing area during the festival

  • Greet and assist attendees in a friendly and professional manner

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Confident in math and basic accounting

  • Excellent communication and people skills

  • Previous experience in customer service, events, or sales is an asset

  • Familiarity with Eventbrite or similar ticketing systems is preferred

About the role 

Folk On The Rocks is hiring a Beer Garden Coordinator to support the Beer Garden Manager for the for the 45th Annual Folk On The Rocks Music Festival. This is a fast-paced role that ensures the smooth operation of the festival’s Beer Garden Area, including managing volunteers, overseeing the bar and VIP area, coordinating with the Finance team, and liaising with the Liquor Licensing Board. Ideal for someone who thrives in environments with prolonged periods of sensory attention. This role will focus on the dispatching radio communications and the management and organization of staff and volunteer radio use during the festival. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in coordinating and managing the entire Beer Garden Volunteer Team;

  • Manages beer and liquor orders and inventory;

  • Tracks all Beer Garden sales;

  • Organizes volunteer training sessions with the NWT Liquor Board;

  • Ensures the safety and security of the Beer Garden;

  • Properly sets up and decorates the Beer Garden;

  • Understands and operates Folk on the Rocks Point of Sale system; 

  • Manages the VIP areas and events of the Beer Garden; and

  • Greets Beer Garden patrons in a warm and friendly manner. 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality, event coordination, or festival management

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership abilities

  • Comfortable working independently in a high-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Knowledge of or experience with liquor licensing and compliance is an asset

Folk On The Rocks is hiring a Radio Dispatcher for the 45th Annual Folk On The Rocks Music Festival. This is a fast-paced role is ideal for someone who thrives in environments with prolonged periods of sensory attention. This role will focus on the dispatching radio communications and the management and organization of staff and volunteer radio use during the festival. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Production Manager to create and organize all radio channels as well as an effective and easy-to-follow communication plan;

  • Lead staff and volunteer radio training in coordination with the Production Manager;

  • Manage all radio dispatch over the festival weekend;

  • Lead, schedule and organize a small radio dispatch volunteer team throughout the festival weekend; 

  • Ensure proper setup, charging and sign in/outs of radios takes place all weekend; and

  • Edit a radio communication manual for Folk on the Rocks.. 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in theatre, audiovisual experience, event coordination, or festival management

  • Excellent communication and people skills 

  • Excellent organization and  multitasking skills 

  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership abilities

  • Comfortable working independently in a high-paced environment with high sensory demands
